The Skilled Rehabilitation and Long-Term Care Unit at East Ohio Regional Hospital is a bright and beautiful 50-bed unit. Some patients require individualized, post-hospital care before returning home and back to their day-to-day lives. Our teams consider your interests, abilities and needs to transition through the recuperation process. Our unit is the area’s only skilled care facility directly connected to an acute care hospital. We offer access to around the clock in-house emergency services, respiratory therapy, radiology, laboratory and outpatient services. In addition, our outstanding wound care services are available.

Our exceptional unit demonstrates a consistently high level of performance. The average length of stay is 20 days or less. At least 90% of our skilled rehab patients return home. Our return to hospital rate is less than 10% which is below the industry average.

Our holistic, interdisciplinary approach to patient care includes physician visits, nursing care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and language pathology, dietary, social services, recreational therapy, and hospice care if needed. We consider our patients part of the team. Together we define goals and a plan of care. The plan includes individualized therapy, medication management, wound care, and nutrition.

Our patients can expect a proactive approach to wellness. Our goal is to support recovery and return home. As our patients transition to home, we coordinate with home health and follow-up appointments to ensure continuity of care. We check-in with our patients at home to how things are going.
